Talk to a lawyer before moving out or agreeing to a parenting schedule. Early arrangements tend to stick. It is safe to assume any text or post about your spouse on social media could be read by a judge.

Keep copies of financial statements you already have access to. If you've been served with divorce papers, write down the date. In Utah, you typically have 21 days to respond, which is very short.

Get medical care and keep your appointments. Gaps in treatment are one of the first things an insurer points to. Photograph the scene, your injuries, and the damage, and get witness names.

Talk to a lawyer before giving a recorded statement to the other driver's insurance company.

Meet Dustin Gibb

I’m Dustin Gibb, the lead attorney at Gibb Law Firm. When you hire the firm, I handle your case. My paralegal and assistant keep your documents organized, your appointments on the calendar, and your questions answered between steps.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University in 2006, and my family and I moved to Michigan so I could attend law school at Michigan State. After graduating in 2010, I clerked in Utah’s Seventh District Court, then settled in Davis County and practiced litigation at Scalley & Reading in Salt Lake City. I opened my own firm in 2018. I take Utah cases only.

I believe clients should understand what is happening in their case rather than simply being told what to do. My wife, Jade, and I have seven children, including triplet girls. Most evenings you’ll find me at a practice or a game, and I’m often the one coaching.
